JCL is looking to hire a Director for the Desert Mission Food Bank. This is a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for food security in our state and strong operations and management skills. This is not a traditional food bank. Our programs include emergency food, children’s snack pacs, low-cost food purchasing, eligibility screening and enrollment for state and federal subsidies, other resource referrals, Holiday Adopt a Family program and more.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director Desert Mission Food Bank is responsible for the effective and efficient overall management of the Food Bank. This position will be responsible for the successful operations of the following programs: Community outreach for food, Emergency Food Boxes, USDA Commodities, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Food Co-op, Special Programs (holiday adopt-a-family, food drives etc) and satellite pantries. This includes assuring smooth daily operation of the Food Bank, increasing the visibility of the Desert Mission in the community and between other helping agencies, supporting fund raising efforts through grant applications and direct solicitations, recruiting and retaining volunteers and ensuring regulatory, licensing, contract and grant compliance requirements are met for the Food Bank.
