Mathematics Division

Job Title: Office Assistant

Department: Communication & Humanities Division*, PVCC

Hours: 16.0 Hours per Week

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 3:00pm-7:00pm

Hourly Rate: $10.00

Benefits Eligible: No

Job Summary: Provides routine secretarial and receptionist support for the evening operation of the Mathematics Division; maintains confidentiality regarding sensitive materials and records and instructor and student information; responds to a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the public regarding division and college activities, practices, procedures and policies; provides communication liaison assistance between and among the division faculty, division chair, and other division support staff; performs general clerical duties such as filing, copying, faxing, data entry; composes correspondence and prepares documents; schedules appointments and meetings as requested; may assist with special events; performs other duties and projects as assigned; works collaboratively with other division support staff.

Qualifications: Knowledge of standard office practices, procedures and equipment, and basic computer systems such as MS Word, Excel; excellent communication skills; experience working in an office environment and experience providing customer service to the public.

Special Working Conditions: Evening hours required.
