Days: Thursday-Friday

Hours: 8:00am-8:00pm

Hourly Rate: $10. 00

Working within a learning college environment, this position provides front office and dispatcher responsibilities in the Public Safety Office and non-law enforcement assistance to students, faculty, staff and visitors at Phoenix College.

Job Duties:

Answers telephone, takes messages, and relays information; assists persons using facilities by giving directions; monitors fire panel; observes and reports unsafe or problem situations to an assigned administrator; sets appointments; makes decisions in emergency situations gauging severity of requests for help; registers all student, staff and faculty vehicles; provides clerical assistance including typing and filing; maintains and updates confidential information; performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Experience working within a customer service focused environment

Experience working with standard office practices, procedures and equipment

Ability to be punctual and responsible in execution of assigned duties

Ability to use two-way radios and telephones

Computer experience using Microsoft Word and Internet applications

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's Degree

Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience

First Aid and/or CPR Certification

Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to sensitive and emergency situations

Experience working in a college environment

Special Working Conditions

May require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and viewing a computer monitor; may be required to lift objects up to 20 lbs.

The budget for this position cannot support regular overtime, blended overtime, or an increase to existing employee benefits. This is an at-will, temporary position.
